Welcome to the first year of the Starfish Club. To be a member, all you have to do is complete one of the challenges, and then come tell Mrs. Caputo the answers during morning work, dismissal, or at appropriate transition times during our day (not during class time). You can become a member after completing just one challenge. As soon as you earn your first starfish you are a member of the "Starfish Club." Once you have earned 16 starfish you are in the Starfish Hall of Fame; your name will go on our "Starfish Club" wall and stay there until I retire from teaching!

To get started choose a question from any of the subjects below. You do not have to do the challenges in order. You may research the topics using reference books and/or suggested web site(s) listed next to the challenge. Your work may be done in school or at home. You can take notes to help you learn the information but when you tell your answers to Mrs. Caputo, you may not use any notes. When you feel you have mastered the content, let me know.

Be a smart internet researcher! I have made every attempt to ensure that the content on the following links is appropriate for students. However, please remember to practice safety rules when using the internet! Do not respond to any pop-up advertisements or promotions. Exit out of them immediately. Please tell Mrs. Caputo and your parents if you see anything you think is inappropriate. Remember: Do NOT give any personal information out on the Internet.
